The new stadium renderings were suppose to be released this spring. Now that we are into summer, has this project been scratched or is there a later date now being discussed for the new stadium design unveiling? How come the Vikings organization has been very quiet about the new stadium plans? They seem to have missed opportunities in creating buzz for this new stadium project. To me its seems too late for a new stadium plan to be released.

You are correct; the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission postponed the unveiling of the new stadium renderings and will now likely release the designs later this summer or early fall. At that point, expect a more public approach by the Vikings throughout the football season and into the 2010 Legislative Session when the team hopes a solution will be passed. While the Vikings have been quiet publicly in order to respect the issues facing the State Legislature and Governor Pawlenty, team officials have increased dialogue with Minnesota’s State leaders regarding the stadium development project. Those conversations are set to continue this fall as well.
